The Appledore and Instow Regatta has been held for more than a century, and if you are staying in July or August you might want to check it out.

The regatta traditionally runs from the Saturday through to the Thursday, with plenty of events to watch and take part in.

During the regatta day itself, at the end of July there are stalls dotted all along Appledore Quay and Instow beach with plenty of fun for the whole family.

Events include the World Championship Crabbing Contest, a tug o' war across the estuary and model yacht racing. Various rowing races from various rowing clubs throughout the day.

Gig boat races, water jousting and many more events too.
